WRN Broadcast delivers TV Jamaica throughout the Summer Games season.

London, August 1,  2012: WRN Broadcast today announced that it's working with Television Jamaica (TVJ), Jamaica's number one television station, throughout the duration of London's Summer Games.

Hosted in WRN Broadcast's Media Village in Vauxhall, London, TVJ is being provided studio facilities for live programme recording and the ‘ad-hoc' transatlantic delivery of non-Olympic rights holder content from our Media Village to their primary audience in Jamaica.

In addition to this uplink service, WRN Broadcast is also responsible for the downlink and on-pass of TVJ programming from Jamaica to London-based OHTV, Sky channel 199. This enables the broadcasters to conduct a content-sharing partnership over a three week period - taking in the Summer Games and special broadcasts to celebrate the 50th Year of Jamaican Independence later in August. Whilst in the Media Village, TVJ will have production support from OHTV, who already operate from WRN Broadcast's Media Village.

David Treadway, Managing Director, WRN Broadcast, said: "This is a great example of how WRN Broadcast's Media Village works best; by pooling broadcast and media talent and combining skills to achieve fantastic results. We're thrilled we can host another nation during London's festival of sport, and it's testament to the entire team here at WRN Broadcast that the project was able to be set up and realised so quickly - especially considering the complexities of working during London's summer games."

Gary Allen, the Managing Director of the RJR Communications Group of which TVJ is the main channel said, "The collaboration with WRN Broadcast and OH TV has been a major accomplishment for us. As non-rights holders for the Olympic Games we still had to find a way to provide editorial content on the world's biggest sporting event and at the same time celebrate our jubilee year of independence involving Jamaicans at home and Jamaicans in the diaspora (mainly the UK) with BEN TV having reach into Nigeria and linking with OHTV, TVJ and through WRN Broadcast in London, we have connected Europe, the Caribbean and Africa in a way not done before. This collaboration of resources, expertise media content demonstrates how with the technologies, globalization still allows space for small island states performing on the world stage. It's fantastic!"
