Case studies

Voice of Truth Radio is a fledgling radio station that launched onto Sky in July 2009 with the help of WRN. The House of Praise Mission Family in South London came to WRN with a request to help it start up its own Christian radio station.

WRN provided the House of Praise with a full turnkey solution, including extensive consultancy work to get the station up and running. This included the build of a fully functional radio studio, help with finding the right station manager and advice on programming, licencing and business models.

Since the closure of the EPG queue in October 2007, broadcasters have only been able to gain access to the platform through the private novation of EPG numbers. WRN helped the station, which House of Praise named Voice of Truth Radio, to procure an Ofcom licence and then secure an EPG novation to facilitate the launch onto Sky. Voice soft-launched onto Sky with pre recorded programmes on the 16th July 2009.

WRN also provides the station with uplink and capacity services on the Eurobird 1 satellite which feeds the Sky system and EPG data management and submission services.

Andrew Adeleke, the Director of Voice of Truth Radio and resident Pastor of the House of Praise, said: "I have immense gratitude for the WRN Team for the work it did in launching VOT Radio. I am absolutely astonished at what WRN has accomplished in such a short period of time in brokering the EPG slot and getting our service on air. Absolutely amazing effort and input, guidance, advise and I am truly impressed. I recommend WRN 100%, for an amazingly beneficial and positive broadcasting experience."

WRN looks forward to taking Voice multi-platform and continue to help them spread their message via other distribution platforms.
