Case studies
World Evangelism Bible Church is a ministry based in London, who wished to start broadcasting recordings of its sermons and crusades on its own designated TV channel. In September 2007, WRN had launched Faith TV onto the Sky platform; an aggregation of Christian programming from various ministries worldwide.
WRN closed a deal with WEBIC which offered the ministry the channel as a set piece, which included a turnkey solution of ingest, playout, scheduling, channel management, satellite uplink and capacity and EPG submission and management services. WEBIC launched on Faith TV in May 2008, with programming made by its own church and other programming from partner company TMH Telemedia.
Since Faith TV's inception, WRN has continued to help WEBIC grow and evolve as a serious broadcaster, offering ongoing consultancy in areas of broadcast, technical and operations.
WRN has also instigated numerous services which have allowed WEBIC to expand Faith TV and roll out its services on multiple platforms. Other added features that WRN has facilitated include a switchable live feed from WEBIC's London studios, a scrolling text service for advertising WEBIC's own services on the channel and a 24/7 channel to Africa via satellite.
Most recently, WEBIC launched a new satellite radio station on Sky for WEBIC, entitled Faith World Radio. WRN successfully secured the Ofcom licence on behalf of FWR and also brokered a private EPG novation deal which enabled FWR to acquire an EPG number. Since the closure of the EPG queue in October 2007, broadcasters have only been able to gain access to Sky through the trading of EPG numbers.
