The concept is simple, shared disaster recovery. Broadcasters sited in different locations should never be affected by the same disaster, so why should everyone have separate facilities? Why not share the facility on a matrix of 3 to 2.

Utilising the WRN Broadcast state-of-the-art Broadcast Data Centre, situated in Vauxhall, London, we can store, protect, distribute and playout your content anywhere world-wide in seconds to ensure you experience little or no time off-air.

Protecting data is not just a prudent part of the day-to-day running for a broadcaster, it's essential. It's essential because all broadcasters need to maintain the flow of content being distributed and played out at all times. This is why it's vital to have your broadcast data backed-up and stored in a secure location, ready to be played out at short notice, even in the worst circumstances.

Although the likelihood of a man-made or natural disaster happening is largely remote, the requirement to protect against the worst happening always remains.

Most broadcasters will encounter a disaster or experience a period of being ‘off-air' at some point.

WRN Broadcast has created a new concept for broadcasters. Our DRS allows broadcasters to have 24/7 disaster recovery, storage and playout facilities without duplicating CAPEX and high OPEX costs. We see our product as an insurance policy in the event of a failure. We can create a bespoke package for you based on the recovery solution you require.

How does it work?

WRN Broadcast's dedicated disaster recovery managed services suite pools multiple customers together to share the costs. The pooling makes the solution cost-effective and WRN Broadcast guarantees every DRS customer a ratio of two playout chains for every three clients.

In the event that DRS is utilised, WRN Broadcast will charge a pre-agreed fee for the duration the facility is fully operational.
